About

La Lumiere New York’s founder was born and raised in Nebraska, inspired by her time behind a camera in New York City, and has put down roots in Austin, TX. Jessica’s design style and love of jewelry comes from her grandmother, whom she admired and adored. Pulling design elements from classic pieces she inherited, she enjoys creating bespoke jewelry for new audiences. She now draws inspiration from the amazing women who share their stories with her.

After traveling the world, she met her husband, Ryan, in La Guardia airport (how very romantic!), and they’ve been navigating life together ever since. Jessica and Ryan are raising their three sweet boys in Austin where they have settled for now. What started as a passion project to fulfill her need for a well-made and affordable keepsake mom bracelet, has evolved into a beloved worldwide brand. La Lumiere is French for “the light,” and Jessica and Ryan invite you to “chase the light” in all that you do.

Let’s chase the light together.
xx,
Jessica

INTRODUCING

Our Foundation Story

After giving birth to her first child, Jessica tried to find a bracelet with her son’s name on it as a keepsake and reminder of the major milestone she and her husband were navigating together. She was disappointed to find that most of the jewelry pieces she was attracted to were exorbitantly priced, and in some cases the quality just wasn’t there. She decided to take matters into her own hands, literally, and made her own.

After making keepsake bracelets for her friends and extended family, word-of-mouth requests for customized jewelry began to pour in. Jessica decided that if she was going to pursue this passion, she wanted to source the best materials for her clients. That led to her exploring international marketplaces for available bead options. Through trial and error and a lot of market testing, she landed on a beautiful enamel-coated metal bead collection. She fell in love with these beads because of the way they feel in your hands. The weight is substantial compared to commonly used plastic, clay, or shell. She is excited to share her designs and inspiration with new and established clients as she creates her collections from this classic foundational material.
